Safeguarding & Your Safety
There is no statutory regulator for martial arts in the UK.
Anyone can set up a martial arts club — there is no legal requirement to hold any qualifications, insurance, or DBS checks, or to register with any organisation.
BMABA CIC works to raise professional standards and promote safer grassroots martial arts. We are proud of the work we do — but we are not a regulator, and membership with us is voluntary.

Where a profile shows verified credentials (such as DBS, insurance, or safeguarding), we have checked supporting documentation submitted to us. Where credentials are not shown as verified, we have not confirmed them.
