Verify a Club

Search by club name or club registration number to view a club's licensing, insurance and registered team

This register shows a club's BMABA registration, its Club Colours licensing state, its club insurance position and the full team registered to the club, from the chief instructor down through coaches, assistant instructors and volunteers. Each person is shown with the checks their club has declared to us.

BMABA Club Colours - What Does It Mean?

Club Colours is an elite licensing state exclusive to BMABA. To hold it, a club has proactively vetted and checked the people actively teaching within it, rather than waiting for any check to be requested. It reflects a club that has chosen to go above the baseline.

On successfully obtaining the Club Colours Award, BMABA CIC is able to automatically pass a club across to the Sport England Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts. This is an ability unique to BMABA as a recognised body, and it means an eligible Club Colours club can be progressed to the national Safeguarding Code without a separate application.

Please note that Club Colours reflects what a club has declared and evidenced to BMABA at the point of licensing. It is a strong positive indicator, but it is not a guarantee about every individual at every moment, and it does not replace your own judgement. If you ever have a concern, you can contact our safeguarding team at any time.

Club Insurance - What Does It Mean?

The insurance status shown here relates only to BMABA's optional Business Cover for the club as an entity. It is an additional level of cover that some clubs choose to take out through BMABA.

If this shows as not active or expired, it does not mean the club itself is uninsured. It only means the club is not using BMABA's Business Cover for the club entity. To confirm cover for the people teaching, check the individual instructors on the National Register of Instructors for their own instructor public liability.

Regulation-Ready - What Does It Mean?

Regulation-Ready is BMABA's voluntary quality assurance framework. It helps clubs evidence that they meet safeguarding, insurance and compliance standards across their team and their paperwork. A club's position is banded as Bronze, Silver or Gold, or shown as Ungraded where a club has not yet reached the Bronze threshold.

It is entirely optional. A club showing as Ungraded has simply not completed or pursued the framework, and this is not in itself any cause for concern. Many well-run clubs operate without a Regulation-Ready award.
