Volunteers support clubs in a range of roles, from club administration and day-to-day running through to basic in-class support. Use this register to confirm a volunteer's registration and the checks their club has declared to us. Volunteers should not deliver techniques or run classes.

Every volunteer is registered to a named lead instructor who is responsible for them. If you have a question about this volunteer, please contact their lead instructor in the first instance. You can look that lead instructor up on our National Register of Instructors to view their own membership status, qualifications and checks. If you have a safeguarding concern, you can report it to BMABA at any time.

Suitability Vetting - What Does It Mean?

Suitability vetting reflects the audience a volunteer's club has declared they work around. It is a declared setting, not a safety verdict. The checks shown on each record indicate what has been verified with BMABA.

• Children, At-Risk & Adults

Declared as volunteering around all audiences, including children and vulnerable adults. For this audience an Enhanced DBS check, safeguarding training, first aid and identity verification are expected.

• Adults Only

Declared as volunteering around non-vulnerable adults only. They should not be working with children or at-risk individuals under this status.

• Not Applicable

The club has declared this volunteer's role does not involve a teaching audience, so audience-based safeguarding checks are not required for the role as declared.

• Pending

The club has not yet confirmed this volunteer's role. Until this is confirmed we cannot provide any assurance on their checks.
