UK Martial Arts Coronavirus Recovery Strategy – Our Pledge
Today we make 15 pledges to our clubs on how we will help you recover from the impact of Covid-19. We will commit to every single promise made until the last of our clubs recover from the impacts of Coronavirus.
From five-figure subsidies on insurance, licensing and qualifications and the guarantee of a reduction in price to every service we provide through to completely free Covid-Aware instructor qualification and certification for all of your coaches, template Covid-policies and a huge package of membership resources and tools…
We’re footing the bill for every BMABA insured instructor to upgrade to £1,000,000 professional indemnity and £250,000 abuse extension without charge. We have also included – for free – cover for teaching online (live and remote) as well as outdoors.
Our CEO will be speaking to Sir Keir Starmer via our place on the ECPG next week to push our agenda for grass roots martial arts recovery amongst our work to pressure Sport England and other stakeholders to do more to help our sector recover.
We have increased our availability to ensure we can help 7 days a week by phone, email, text or live chat. We have invested more than ever in online content and resources including our industry leading and award winning member’s area, MyBMABA.
We have formulated guidance and policy on gradings, syllabus deviations and continuity planning.
Our content and guidance on latest government guidelines, help delivering online content and assistance teaching outdoors continues to grow.
We have launched Martial Arts Done Right, MartialHost and others to help reach and assist the wider market.
Our liaison services have helped clubs communicate with venues and councils to assist in getting outdoor sessions up and running as well as securing venues post-covid, as well as ensuring every BMABA club has a fully approved Exit Strategy and Covid Policy to outline how they will safely facilitate future training to reassure parents and participants.
We will stop at nothing to support every single club we have, big or small, existing or new. We’re confident there is no other martial arts association in the UK doing so much and offering such a feature-rich membership at no extra cost and as standard for every member. Our door is open to any club or association that wants to access our expertise and resources.
This is a self-funded, community driven effort. We receive absolutely nothing from Sport England or any other funding bodies.
We’re in this together, and together we will survive this.
