A normal Tuesday class is twenty students you know, in a hall you know, doing something you have taught a hundred times. An event is hundreds of strangers, many of them children, in an unfamiliar building, competing under pressure, in front of parents, with you responsible for all of it.
Event-Ready is the qualification for that. Thirteen lessons on planning, safeguarding, medical cover, head injury, organiser authority and what happens when something goes wrong.
Most organisers assemble their event from three unrelated places: a course from somewhere, insurance from a broker, and a spreadsheet for everything else. Ours are one thing, and each part assumes the others exist.
They are deliberately interlocked. Completing the CPD is what makes you eligible to sanction; sanctioning is what triggers the cover; the Hub is where the paperwork the policy conditions require actually gets produced. Assemble the same three things separately and you are the one holding them together on the day.

Event insurance is normally sold per event, which quietly punishes the clubs doing the most for their students. A club running four gradings and a competition a year pays five times over for the privilege of being active.
Under BMABA membership, sanctioned events run by members are covered as part of the membership rather than priced separately. Full contact included. Multi-day included. However many you run.
Those conditions are not fine print to be skimmed. They are the difference between a covered event and an uncovered one, and working through them properly is a large part of what this course is for.

Our CPD catalogue is reviewed on a rolling cadence rather than left to age, and reviewed again out of cycle whenever something material shifts: new legislation, updated statutory guidance, a sector-wide review, or clubs telling us that what we teach no longer matches what they are dealing with.
Event-Ready exists because the sanctioning process was asking organisers to attest to things nobody had ever trained them on. Requiring a form without providing the knowledge behind it is a paperwork exercise rather than a safety one, so the course was built to sit underneath it.
Our workforce of instructors, assistant instructors and volunteers is who this is for. When their job changes, the training that supports it should already have changed, rather than catching up afterwards.
This one is read by venues, by local authorities and, if something goes wrong, by people asking what the organiser knew.
BMABA is a CIMSPA Endorsed Training Provider, and we map our qualifications to a recognised professional standard wherever one exists. Mapped is not the same as endorsed: a course is only formally CIMSPA Endorsed CPD once it has been submitted, reviewed and certified, and we say so on the course itself when it has.

This is not generic event management guidance. It teaches the conditions attached to the cover your event will be running under, so the training and the policy say the same thing.
Sport England’s safeguarding guidance for martial arts names four organisations, and we are the only independent, multi-style association among them. A BMABA club holding Club Colours has the Safeguarding Code issued automatically rather than applying for it.
Certified under UKAS accreditation via the British Assessment Bureau. Content is version-controlled, reviewed on a cycle and traceable, which matters when the underlying policy conditions change at renewal.

Our qualifications and awards are delivered entirely online through our own learning platform, on the website or in the BMABA app. Phone, tablet, laptop, whatever you have in your hand.
Your place is saved as you go, so you can do a lesson on your lunch break, another while the kids are at training, and finish the exam on a Sunday evening. Nothing expires part way through and nothing has to be done in one sitting.
Most people take this one in the weeks before an event they have already committed to. Because your place is saved and there is no deadline, you can work through it around venue calls and entry lists rather than blocking out a day you do not have.
