Let us move your existing website. Free, and built twice if you want.
We are on a mission to help clubs take back control of their website infrastructure and costs. Our developers will transfer your site from any platform, at no cost, and can mock it up in both WordPress and Flo so you can decide which you actually prefer.
Site Migration Complete
+300 Trusted by hundreds of members
and anywhere else
We are not saying your current provider is bad. We are saying you might not need to be paying for it.
Every platform on this page is a legitimate product built by people who know what they are doing. If yours works well and you are happy with it, that is genuinely great, and we would rather you stayed put than moved for the sake of it.
What we do know is that a lot of clubs are paying for a website builder, hosting, a domain, plugin licences and occasional developer time, without ever adding the annual figure up. For many of them, that total is more than the entire cost of BMABA membership including insurance.
So this is a simple offer. We will move your site across for nothing, put it on infrastructure that is certified and maintained, and keep it in the same account as your club management platform, your email and your compliance tools.
If you like it, you cancel the other subscriptions and pocket the difference. If you do not, we delete it and you have lost nothing but a conversation. There is no contract attached to the migration itself.
You might be able to save a small fortune by switching
A rough comparison of what clubs typically pay elsewhere, against what the same provision costs with us. Our workings are set out in full underneath, because a comparison you cannot check is worth nothing.
- Web provision £0
- Club management platform £0*
- Developer support £0
Website, hosting & e-commerce platforms
Plus a club management platform
We have not named these five. We share a sector with them, they all provide a genuinely valuable service, and we have no interest in going head to head with anyone. Clubs deserve a choice, and this is illustrative only. All five are published prices for a club of around 100 students, and one also charges a one-off setup fee of between £100 and £199.
Plus a web developer, when something breaks
See our workings out on pricing (please do)
A cost comparison is only worth anything if you can see how it was built, so here is exactly what we did and where it is imperfect.
What we compared, and why. Every figure is an annual cost, taken on a tier that includes e-commerce, at standard non-promotional or renewal pricing rather than introductory offers. Where a provider prices in dollars we converted at 1.35. We used e-commerce capable tiers because our own provision includes a shop, and comparing our full offering against somebody’s entry-level brochure plan would not be an honest like for like.
Where it is imperfect, and it genuinely is. Website platforms do not line up neatly against each other. Plans bundle different things, some sell e-commerce as a per-site add-on rather than as a tier, and storage, bandwidth, plugin allowances and support levels all vary. In every case we picked the nearest honest equivalent and named the plan, so you can go and check the figure yourself rather than taking ours on trust. Where a provider’s cheapest plan had no e-commerce at all, we moved up to the tier that did rather than quoting a lower number we could not stand behind.
Where we left something out. If a provider does not publish a clear standard price, or its builder is simply another platform on this list under a different name, we removed it rather than publishing a figure we could not defend. We would rather show a shorter list than an impressive one.
Managed WordPress with premium plugins. Derived from the published price of the same specification tier we run for member clubs, plus the premium plugin licensing that comes with it. In sterling that lands somewhere between £2,400 and £3,000 a year depending on exchange rate and plugin coverage. We have quoted the lower end.
Club management platforms. All five are published prices for a club of around 100 students. One also charges a one-off setup fee of between £100 and £199, which we have noted because it is a real first-year cost. We have deliberately not named them. We share a sector with these organisations, they all provide a valuable service to the clubs who use them, and this is illustrative of cost rather than a judgement on quality.
Our own figure. Our web provision, club management platform and developer support are free with membership. We cap student numbers on the platform by membership level and apply liberal data allowances to websites, and developer time is subject to fair usage. Where a club collects payments by card or Direct Debit through Stripe or GoCardless there is a 1 per cent BMABA transaction charge; offline and manual collection is free.
Developer pricing. £45 and £110 per hour sit inside current UK freelance and small agency ranges, and deliberately not at the extreme end of either.
An important caveat. None of this means our provision is better, or the right fit for your club. We are always happy for clubs to try our platforms first, and we recommend you test them fully before moving away from anything you already rely on. If you are unsure, speak to our team and we will give you a straight answer.
All third party pricing was researched on 13th August 2026 and is as accurate as we can make it on that date. Providers change pricing frequently and run promotional rates, so please confirm the current figure on each provider’s own site before making a decision. If anything here looks wrong, nudge us on web chat and we will correct it.
How it works
We manage the whole process so there is no risk of losing content and no downtime on your existing site. Yours stays live throughout, untouched, until you decide otherwise.
Start it online through our setup tool, or simply speak to one of the team on chat. It takes a couple of minutes and you can do it at any hour.
Keep it exactly as it is, upgrade it as we go, or refresh it into something completely new. Give us a brief and we will work to it. Say the word and we will build it in both WordPress and Flo so you can compare.
Our in-house developer replicates your design, content, images and functionality. We do not need logins to your existing website, and your live site is never touched.
It arrives on a temporary address so you can click around it exactly as a student would, then explore the back end. Ask for changes, tweak the design, or tell us to start again.
Happy? We will help you point your domain across, and it goes live. Free, forever. Not for you? We delete it, no pressure and no hard feelings, and you carry on exactly as you were.
If your website is a reasonably standard club site and is not heavily tied into third party systems, there is a fair chance you could ask us first thing and be looking at a working replica before the afternoon is out. It genuinely happens more often than people expect.
We will not promise it, because the honest answer depends entirely on what your site does. Something with a large shop, a members area, bespoke functionality or hundreds of pages will take longer, and we would rather take the time and get it right than rush it and hand you something half finished. Ask us and we will tell you plainly what yours is likely to involve.
And we will wire in the club platform while we are at it.
This is the part clubs tend not to expect. As we port your website across, we can integrate our club management platform directly into it, so you do not land on a new site with the same disconnected admin you had before.
Front-end class calendars and events pulling from your real timetable. A members area your students log into from your own website. Online payments, attendance and grade tracking, staff management and student records, all sitting behind the site rather than in a separate system you copy data into.
It means you can hit the ground running with a members area already built in, on day one, rather than as a project you will get around to eventually.
And it is not just the website we build for you
Clubs come to us for the free transfer and then find the website was the smallest part of it. Everything below is included with membership, already licensed, already running, and sitting in the same account as your new site.
So what is the catch?
There genuinely is not one, and we would rather explain the commercial logic than have you spend the next fortnight looking for the trap.
We are good at this. Building and hosting websites is something we have done at scale for years, for hundreds of clubs, on infrastructure we own and audit. A migration does not take us anything like as long as you would imagine, because we do it constantly and we have the tooling for it.
And we are a not-for-profit with a legal asset lock, which changes the maths entirely. We do not need to make a margin on your website, because there are no shareholders waiting for one. What we need is for clubs to stay with us, and the surest way to achieve that is to do a genuinely good job on something that would otherwise cost you money every month.
So yes, we lose money on the migration itself. We are betting that you will like the hosting, like the club platform, notice the saving, and still be here in five years. That bet has worked out well enough so far, and it is a considerably better strategy than charging you for it.
You are not handing your website to a random little association
It is a fair question to ask who is actually going to be holding your club’s website, your students’ enquiry data and your domain. So here is the answer plainly.
BMABA CIC is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 27001:2022 for information security, both issued under UKAS accreditation and assessed by the British Assessment Bureau. UKAS is the United Kingdom’s national accreditation body, recognised by government, and those are the same standards used to assess hospitals, universities and major corporations. We also hold Cyber Essentials and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as a data controller.
We are a Community Interest Company regulated by the CIC Regulator, with a legal asset lock. Your website will sit inside an audited information security regime, run by an organisation that answers to somebody.
Frequently asked questions
How can this really be free? What is the catch?
There isn’t one, though we understand the scepticism. There are a few things we cannot do, mostly around very advanced or resource-hungry custom functionality, but it affects fewer than one in five hundred sites so we do not lead with it. The full technical breakdown is in our handbook if you want the detail. The honest commercial answer is in the next question.
Why does BMABA provide this?
Two reasons. The first is cost saving at club level: many clubs spend upward of £300 a year, often far more, on website builders and associated software, which more than covers BMABA membership including insurance. The second is honest self-interest. We lose money on each migration because it costs us time, but we hope you will like our hosting and our club platform enough to stay with us for years. That mutual arrangement helps clubs and helps us, and the design duplication genuinely does not take as long as you would think.
Is WordPressbyBMABA better than other hosting?
We will never make that assumption. WordPress powers a very large share of the web and is one of the most trusted content management systems in the world. Our version of it adds managed hosting, premium plugins, tools and support. We love it, but then we would, because it is ours. You might not, which is exactly why you should take it for a test drive first if it is a fundamental reason for joining.
Is your club management platform better than others?
Same answer. Club management platforms differ hugely, and very few are built specifically for martial arts. We built ours, so of course we rate it. There are also excellent providers doing great work. The clearest difference is the price tag, since ours is free subject to membership caps. Take it for a spin before you jump ship, and make the decision on whether it fits your club rather than on cost alone.
Do you need access to my current website?
No. We do not need administrator details or logins for your existing site, and we never touch it. We work from the public site, build the replica separately on a temporary address, and your live website carries on exactly as it is until you choose to switch the domain over.
Will I lose my search rankings?
That is precisely what the process is designed to avoid. We preserve your content and URL structure, and the switch happens at domain level once you are happy, so search engines see the same site at the same address. If your site is very large or has an unusual structure, tell us early and we will plan the redirects with you.
This is an essential reason for joining. Is that okay?
Absolutely, and we hear it often. Just bear in mind that BMABA membership is an annual commitment even when paid monthly, because we are a membership organisation rather than a software provider. If our platforms are a fundamental reason for joining, speak to our technical team first and we will set up a sandbox example for you to test before you commit.
What if I do not like what you build?
We delete it, and nothing changes for you. There is no charge, no obligation and no awkwardness. Your existing website was never altered, so you simply carry on. We would rather build something you decline than talk you into something you regret.

Matt J Can't Rate Them Highly EnoughHaving left my previous association in November, and being very daunted by the prospect of being responsible for all my own compliance and everything else I can honestly say BMABA have made the whole thing possible and even pleasant. The training resources are great, it's been fantastic for me to be able to quickly up skill my team, the insurance is really easy to sort out, the team are super friendly and helpful, the perks on Gold membership are also fantastic.

Georgina E Really impressive, 21st century MA organisation. 10/10Found these guys in Martial Arts Illustrated doing a piece on professionalism in martial arts and thought, as an instructor, they might be worth looking at further. Really impressed from the moment I hit their website through to now, 3 months on as a member. Great staff, Giovanni is rediculously knowledgable and our club is now growing under the banner of what has got to be the best martial arts org in the UK.

Michael Willington Definately recommended. Unbelievable Association. The BMABA are unlike any other org I've come across in this industry. Their honest, professional, politics free and most importantly, they know what they're doing. Website is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest, insurance is comprehensive and their overall customer service is just unlike anything else I've had in 25 years of martial arts. Amazing through and through. Would definitely recommend.

Jonathan D BMABA – the Martial Arts Association you NEEDI joined the BMABA right in its infancy (I believe I was their second member!). Giovanni is the most helpful, respectful and genuine person who has turned the possibility of a non-political, highly respected and supportive Martial Arts Association into a reality. I could bang on for hours about the BMABA but don't take my word for it – go and visit the BMABA website and see for yourself.

Fabian Burdett This Team Deserves A MedalAs we all know 2020 has been the year from hell for martial arts. One thing that has come out of that is BMABA have done everything in their power to keep clubs like mine up to date with what's happening and tried to push the government to notice us. Couldn't wish for a better association to be a part of. Once again big THANK YOU to you guys for all the help. 💙🐺👊
