BMABA Nominated For The Sports Business Awards’ 2020 Sports Diversity Award
We’re proud to have been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Sports Business Awards’ 2020 Sports Diversity Award category.
We have always practiced what martial arts teaches – complete equality separated only by the merits of what we do as individuals – and it’s great to receive a ‘nod’ to acknowledge this work on a national platform. Our nomination was confirmed earlier in 2020 but owing to the BLM movement and lots of political sound-boarding from organisations with no track record for diversity at that time, we thought it better to sit tight and share this great news a little later this year, to ensure we don’t appear to be sounding a PR move rather than a genuine award nomination!
Unfortunately we won’t be attending the award ceremony this year so we wish the other finalists the best of luck in advance of the big day.
We are sat shoulder to shoulder with some true giants in this category so the team are very pleased with the work that has been going on behind the scenes to ensure both our membership process and internal staff/recruiting policies are best-in-class.
Here are the finalists;
- Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club v homophobia
- British Martial Arts & Boxing Association
- Everton Football Club
- Leicester City Football Club
- Project Rugby – Premiership Rugby
- Rangers Charity Foundation
- Ready Steady Active
- The 2019 Solheim Cup – VisitScotland/EventScotland
We wish them all the best of luck on the night, and pass on our thanks to the BMABA Group for their continued support.
