As we rapidly approach 2022, we’re revamping our collection of in-person and online training offerings.
Having only just announced brand new standard and lead safeguarding qualifications, we’re pleased to now confirm that a new BMABA Martial Arts First Aid Essentials award is available, effective immediately, for our instructors. The award is inclusive in the cost of our already all-encompassing Silver and Gold memberships. For those who are not prepaid, the cost is just £14.99.
As with all of our qualifications and training that is vocational, the award is available entirely online. It features over an hour of video instruction on basic first aid principles from a qualified first aid trainer and is supplemented with martial arts specific guidance around issues such as concussion and head trauma, accident reporting, pre-existing student medical condition management and more.
The BMABA Martial Arts First Aid Essentials award is designed to provide instructors and assistant coaches with a basic grasp of emergency first aid for martial arts settings. The course covers some of the more likely ‘minor’ injuries as well as serious medical emergencies, focusing on providing instructors and coaches with the skills needed to identify and assist whilst awaiting medical support.

- Basic First Aid Course (Consisting of a 1 hour qualified video based lesson)
- First Aid Essentials
- Head Trauma & Concussion Awareness

Clearly in-person first aid training is essential for anyone who has not completed physical training before and we’ll be releasing a date for our first VTQ Level 3 Martial Arts Instructor First Aid course shortly. This will be an in-person award running in early 2022 and will be fully accredited.
For those who have already completed in-person training and whom are now seeking a refresher, or for those who are looking to obtain a minimum standard whilst seeking an in person course, our online award is perfect.
