Olympic Pathway For GB Taekwondo Opens For 16+ Athletes

We proudly announced in January that GB Taekwondo – the official organisation responsible for developing Olympic talent in Taekwondo – is working in collaboration with BMABA to find talent from a more diverse background of martial arts.

We are the only indepedent multi-style association that GB Taekwondo work alongside to promote their renowned Fighting Chance Talent Pathway in this way and we do so without any funding or remuneration. The programme provides applicants and clubs with the opportunity to submit video demonstrations of a student’s ability for the GB Taekwondo Olympic Talent Team to review and assess.

Successful applicants will be short listed with the opportunity to move on to train at the full time GB TKD headquarters in Manchester, on route to the Olympic Games.

We’re very excited to be collaborating with GB Taekwondo on this project, as it makes us with the only indepedent martial arts association to be providing a pointer in this way.

The application is not just for Taekwondo – it is for all styles and martial artists talented in kicking. This includes Kickboxing, Karate, Muay Thai, Kung Fu and so on. Video demonstrations should be the best possible showcase of your competitive abilities and raw talent.

We provide all of our clubs with the full links, guidance and resources needed to make the most of the application process. Applications will close on 2nd October 2020 and are initially only open to those aged 16+. More information is available in our member’s area.
